3 years (Full-time) / n/a (Part-time) / n/a (Distance / E-Learning)

This degree programme offers students interested in Business Management the opportunity to specialise in Finance. The Joint Honours programme means that an equal weighting is applied to the management and finance modules in year one and thereafter.

In the first year students will be introduced to a series of different modules of relevance to the business world to enable them to gain a solid foundation in the core areas of business. Examples of choice of modules include Professional Accounting and Information Management, Introduction to Finance, Marketing and Strategy and Introduction to Management.

Building on the core foundations of year one, the second and third years enable students to specialise in Management and Finance. Modules for the Finance element are compulsory to ensure students have a thorough grasp of the workings of the finance industry and of the basis of finance in other organisations. For the Management modules, students are required to study Marketing and Strategy and Strategic Management in years two and three and supplement these modules with two additional modules in each year. Sample optional modules currently include Human Resource Management, International Management, Operations Management, Ethics and Morality in Business and International Human Resource Management.

Student Views

I really enjoyed studying Economics at A-level and was aware that Cardiff Business School has a really good reputation and a nice atmosphere. I am enjoying the challenge of learning new skills in Economics and the lecturers make the subject interesting and easy to understand. Cardiff Business School is really friendly and the socials help you to get to know everyone.

In his spare time Richard plays American Football for Cardiff Cobras.
