Chemistry is a fundamental and exciting discipline, and one that plays a significant role in many areas of science and in everyday life. This importance is reflected in the ethos of the Cardiff School of Chemistry which is internationally recognised as a dynamic and innovative centre for teaching and research.
All our degrees degrees are designed to give you a broad Chemistry education and, in addition, supply you with a wide range of research, mathematical and computational skills. All major areas of the subject are covered in the BSc Chemistry course, with practical training an essential element. The skills developed during this degree programme provide an excellent basis for further study, research or employment. All programmes offered by the school have been "approved" (BSc) or "accredited" (MChem) by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

In the final year of MChem schemes, the subject developed in a number of areas, with a strong emphasis on the practical elements of the chemistry in the form of a substantial research project carried out in the laboratories of one of the School's active research groups. AAB - ABB (340-320 points) with a Grade A in Chemistry.
Entry Requirements
Chemistry and two other science or mathematical subjects. General Studies is not accepted.
Alternative Entry Requirements
Applications from those offering alternative/vocational/overseas qualifications (eg Access, Vocational A-level) are welcome as are those who may have combinations of qualifications or other relevant work/life experience.
