Law (LLB)

UCAS Code:

  • M100 LLB/L
  • M101 LLB/LawGE (Graduate entry -2 yrs)

3 years (Full-time) / n/a (Part-time) / n/a (Distance / E-Learning)

Cardiff’s traditional LLB Law degree aims to equip you with a broad knowledge of core areas of law and the legal system, while also allowing you to specialise according to your individual interests and subject preferences.

All Cardiff Law degrees meet the requirements of the governing bodies of the solicitors and barristers branches of the legal profession so that LLB graduates may obtain exemption from the academic stage of the professional examinations. Cardiff Law School also offers the Legal Practice Course and Bar Professional Training Course for students who wish to qualify as barristers or solicitors, so you will not need to go elsewhere to complete your legal education.

The Cardiff LLB places great emphasis on student choice. In addition to the ‘foundation’ subjects required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board, you can select from a wide range of options in your second and final years. Elective modules cover branches of law directly relevant to legal practice, subjects that draw on Cardiff’s research specialisms and more philosophical subjects
