Prospective Students

Business Management (BSc)

UCAS Code:

  • N201 BSc/BusMgt

3 years (Full-time) / n/a (Part-time) / n/a (Distance / E-Learning)

The Business Management degree programme enables students to choose either a broadly based management degree or to specialise in an area of business and management that they find of interest. For all of the Business Management schemes there is a common first year, in which students take seven compulsory modules which provide a broad understanding of business and management, as well as a foundation for more advanced specialist study. They then have the opportunity to choose between five degree programmes, four of which offer specialist subjects in Human Resource Management, International Management, Logistics and Operations Management, and Marketing, and one general programme, offering a wide range of options.

In the second and third years of all the business management degree programmes there is further scope to choose from a broad range of modules that reflect the research expertise of Business School academics and current developments in the business world. Throughout the programme there is an emphasis on developing a solid core of knowledge in business management, while allowing students to specialise in areas they find interesting and which reflect their career aspirations.

Students who choose the specialist programme in logistics and operations may be entitled to exemptions from some of the examination requirements of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and the British International Freight Association.

Those who choose to take the specialist programme in marketing will gain exemption from some of the professional examinations of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
