3 years (Full-time) / n/a (Part-time) / n/a (Distance / E-Learning)
The Business Management (Human Resources) degree programme builds on the general foundation of business modules by examining the design and functioning of work organisations, the regulatory environment and the social context surrounding the workplace, and the techniques that are used to manage people at work. The programme reflects the growth of the Human Resource profession and the increased focus on people management in many organisations in the public and private sectors.
For all of the Business Management schemes there is a common first year, in which students take seven compulsory modules which provide a broad understanding of business and management, as well as a foundation for more advanced specialist study.
In the second and third years of the Human Resources programme there is further scope to choose from a broad range of modules, including Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, Managing Equality & Diversity and Managing Public Services.
Throughout the programme there is an emphasis on developing a solid core of knowledge of human resource management, while allowing students to specialise in areas they find interesting and which reflect their career aspirations.
