Ancient History and German (BA) offers students the chance to examine ancient civilization alongside a contemporary and increasingly popular language at degree level. The German department offers challenging linguistic, cultural and historical modules, giving joint-honours students a unique experience of Ancient History at degree level. The degree will additionally provide students with a range of important transferable skills in both disciplines – leading the way to a variety of potential career opportunities after graduating.

Typical A-level Offer

ABB

Three A-level subjects, generally including a B in a modern foreign language for beginners or B in German for the advanced pathway.  Exceptions can be made according to personal circumstances. Two AS subjects may be considered in lieu of a third A-level.

Typical WBQ Offer  Advanced Diploma with a Pass in the Core plus AA grades at A-level (must include a modern foreign language at A -level)
Typical Int Bacc Offer  Considered on individual merit but must include 6 in a modern foreign language.
