FunderFinder Database (Funding Information Source)
Reference Number: R265
FunderFinder is a small UK charity specialising in information and advice about charitable trusts and foundations that fund study in the UK. It supplies People in Need (PIN) software that keeps track of the 4000 trusts and foundations that fund individuals in the UK, and is updated regularly over the Internet.
Grant-seekers input relevant personal details - like age, gender, where living - and some information about what the money is needed for. This information is matched against the funders' criteria, and PIN then retrieves funders that match the search profile entered by the grant-seeker.
A search produces a list of funders. Details of any of the funders retrieved (name, address, policy etc) can be saved, exported, emailed and printed out. If you know the name of a particular charitable trust or foundation, you can 'look up one funder' without doing a search to get the full details.
The FunderFinder Database is available in all UK University Careers Services, including the Cardiff University Careers Service.
A copy of the CD-Rom is available from the Careers Service Reference Library, which is located at 5 Corbett Road, Cardiff, CF10 3EB. The Library is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am – 5.00pm throughout the year (though during vacations opening times can vary).
