I studied Spanish for five years and always enjoyed it, so wanted to carry it on along with a new language and was attracted to the Japanese course. The course is challenging and quite a lot of work, but I don’t mind it as it’s very enjoyable and I can’t wait to travel abroad in my third year. I am very much looking forward to studying Japanese History next term. The department is relaxed and most of the staff are really enthusiastic which helps me stay motivated! I have taken up the option to also study a French module this year, which is great – I love the flexibility that we are offered.
