Student views for Cardiff School of Biosciences

Jon Broadest (Biology)

I chose to come to Cardiff after attending the Open Day. I got a good ‘feel’ for the city, and I’d heard a lot of good things about the social life! I particularly like the practical aspects of my course with field trip opportunities in places such as Spain, Kenya and Caribbean as well as UK locations. There are also lots of modules available meaning I can tailor my degree to meet my own preferences. The staff-student relations are good and my tutor is readily accessible!

In addition to studying Jon has learnt to row from scratch and is now a member of the University first boat crew.

Sian Wells (Biology)

"I decided to study Biology at university after enjoying my A-level course. One of the best aspects of the course at Cardiff is its flexibility - in the first year I was able to study a language and at the end of the first year I was also able to change my course from Zoology to Biology, as my interests changed. One of my favourite parts of the course has been the field trip to southern Spain where I was involved in carrying out a beetle diversity experiment."
