Student views for Cardiff School of Music

The first year of the course is spent building on your prior knowledge of music, with compulsory modules, so I feel we have been given a good academic foundation for specialising in later years. One of the best features of the course is the great variety of modules – from Baroque to Jazz. This means I have been able to select what I am most interested in. I love the great performance opportunities the course presents, many of which are extra-curricular. For example, the University Choir and Orchestra put on a concert in St. David’s Hall, which is an amazing experience.

"I chose Cardiff for my music degree because of the excellent teaching staff and facilities such as the outstanding music library, which is not only a recently refurbished resource centre, but the heart of the School. They School has a lively and friendly atmosphere and is a genuinely wonderful place to study."
