Cardiff School of European Languages, Translation and Politics

The School of European Studies is a lively, multidisciplinary School that specialises in the political systems, histories, languages and cultural identities of Europe. With more than 80 staff and close links with other departments, the School offers an impressive variety of degree programmes and areas of study within the European context. Students benefit from the close link between this research and the teaching that they receive. The School was also commended in the most recent Teaching Quality Assessment for both the friendly and supportive approach of its staff and for the level of its student achievement.

Students are able to benefit from excellent facilities in the School's own building with its new IT equipment and in the nearby Humanities Building and Arts and Social Studies Resource Centre.

Student Views

"Politics is a subject which has always fascinated me and Cardiff's politics course has furthered this interest and inspired me to continue my studies at postgraduate level next year. Cardiff's libraries provide excellent study areas and a great selection of books and journals for private study."
Ben Anderson-Tuffnell (Politics)
